The NGO "Institute for the Development of Social Services" publishes the annual report of the project "Social Initiatives for Families with Children at the Community Level in Dnipropetrovsk Region", which was implemented with the support of UNICEF Ukraine.
The project became part of systemic changes in the social sphere of the region and combined comprehensive approaches to supporting children, families, and community development. During the implementation period, it was possible to build a model that combines case management as a basic service, psychosocial support for children and adults, development of professional capacity of specialists, and implementation of inclusive services at the community level.
The project's results reflect its scale:
- thousands of families received comprehensive support;
- over 100,000 people are covered by psychosocial support;
- a network of Child-Friendly Spaces has been created;
- mobile work formats have been launched in remote communities;
- New social services have been introduced that did not exist systematically before.
At the same time, the key result was not only quantitative indicators. As part of the project, communities received tools for independent development of social services, data-based decision-making, and the transition from responding to challenges to systemic work.
A separate direction has been the formation of inclusive solutions - from family support services to the creation of infrastructure, in particular, a Day Care Center for children with disabilities.
